• Presco Underground Detectable Warning Tape is a 5-mil thick reinforced tape designed for use in various industries like safety, construction, mining, hardware, utilities, and more. It comes in non-adhesive rolls that are 3 inches and 6 inches wide and 1000 feet long. This tape can be easily placed to alert of hazards on construction sites, road repairs, buried pipes, wires, cables, and other areas. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -60F to 250F.
• Please note sometimes Presco has this manufactured in the U.S. instead of importing in from China and in those cases instead of banded bars with text the detectable rolls have diagonal stripes on them with text. Please see additional photos for an example. Roll specifications are the same for both varieties. Thank you. Also, Presco Underground Detectable Warning Tape can be shipped on a non-branded neutral core or a Presco branded core.
• Presco Detectable Underground Warning Tape is a specially laminated PET / foil / poly blend. The blend (with polyester) provides exceptional strength characteristics when compared to other all polyethylene type detectable warning tapes. The bold black message on its American Public Works Association (APWA) color-coded background is treated to not degrade or fade when exposed to alkalis, acids and or any other destructive underground elements.
• Presco Underground Detectable Warning Tape is primarily used for accurately locating and preventing damage to valuable underground utility installations. It has an aluminum backing to make underground assets easy to find using a non-ferrous locator. Properly installed, Presco Underground Detectable tape helps avoid catastrophically inaccurate digging when locating utilities such as electrical lines, gas pipes and communication cables.
• Stock legends and colors include red color, CAUTION: BURIED ELECTRIC LINE BELOW; red color, CAUTION: BURIED HIGH VOLTAGE CABLE BELOW (available in 3 in. width only); orange color, CAUTION: BURIED FIBER OPTIC LINE BELOW; blue color, CAUTION: BURIED WATER LINE BELOW; green color, CAUTION: BURIED SEWER LINE BELOW; yellow color, CAUTION: BURIED GAS LINE BELOW; purple color, CAUTION: BURIED RECLAIMED WATER LINE BELOW.
